Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BMCCI) is organizing Showcase Bangladesh 2014 on 14-16 November, 2014 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). This is the third time the Showcase Bangladesh event is taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition is held in collaboration with Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia, Malaysia South-South Association (MASSA) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). The event is also supported by Chambers and Associations of both the countries. It is one of the largest trade fairs organized by a Bangladeshi organization on Malaysian soil.
Nasir A Choudhury, President, BMCCI welcomed the participants and media personalities. Syed Nurul Islam, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Showcase Bangladesh 2014 & Immediate Past President of BMCCI elaborately discussed the present status of the Showcase including their recent meetings with Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Foreign Affairs, Industries, Civil Aviation & Tourism of Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia, MATRADE, MASSA etc. in Kuala Lumpur with regard to Showcase. He informed that a big business delegation from Bangladesh will visit Malaysia during the event. About 60 Bangladeshi Companies will participate in Showcase with their Products and Services.
The prime objective of Showcase Bangladesh 2014 is ‘Branding of Bangladesh’. BMCCI wish to establish Bangladesh as a lucrative business hub, highlight the increasing diversity of our economy, contribute in reducing the trade gap between Bangladesh & Malaysia, and promote bilateral trade between the two countries. In this regard, we are amassing the biggest and most popular brands of Bangladesh from different sectors to highlight the competencies and diversity of Bangladesh. Showcase Bangladesh 2014 is a platform upon which the entrepreneurs of Bangladesh and Malaysia can explore new business opportunities beyond the geographical boundaries.
Bangladeshi companies representing Banking & Insurance services, Readymade Garments both Woven and Knitted, Textiles, Infrastructure – ICT & Telecom, Jute & Jute Products, Hotel & Tourism, Halal & Frozen Foods, Leather Products, Pharmaceuticals, Herbal & Ayurvedic Products, Ceramic Tableware’s, Consumer, Cosmetics & Toiletries, Handicrafts and Handloom Products, etc. have been encouraged to participate in the Showcase.
BMCCI will accommodate various types of activities such as Bangladeshi Food Festival, Exhibition, Seminars, One-to-One Business Meetings, Cultural Program and Gala Dinner. Our management will accompany a team of business delegates seeking business opportunities in Malaysia will take part in the events along with the invitees and visitors.
Besides investment opportunities in infrastructure development and industries, there are immense possibilities for Malaysian investments in Tourism Sector of Bangladesh. This assumes importance in view of the massive development in tourism and infrastructure sectors in Malaysia.
